How To: Liquid Illuminators!

Posted by Makeupnet Staff on

So you've perfected the art of highlighting your cheek bone with a fan brush and your favourite highlighter - but have you mastered liquid illuminators?
Here is our guide for getting the most out of that bottle of GLOW!
For a really subtle highlight that peeks through your foundation - dab a little illuminator on your cheekbones and blend before applying your foundation.
For a proper glow-up, dab and blend with your fingers or a beauty sponge after you apply your foundation.
Tip: This only works for cream or liquid based foundations! You don't want to place your illuminator over a powder as it will mix in and create a texture you probably don't want on your face.
Model off-runway Glow:
Mix in a small amount of illuminator with your foundation before applying for skin that looks fresh and healthy!
Tip: You probably want to skip this if you are an oily/combo skin gal, you could end up looking like a disco ball at the end of the day.
(That means this is perf for those with dehydrated, dull skin!)
We also recommend picking an illuminator that is a little more natural - such as a bronze shade rather than a purple iridescent.
Festival Vibes:
Pick an illuminator that stands out - think duochrome or a pink with gold reflects! Apply as a highlight - not only to your face but to your body!
Blend out with a beauty sponge on the top of your shoulders and collarbones.
